        Is it actually heated, or just a thick blanket?

        Actually heated. A detachable controller runs the built-in heating, and you set the level yourself on the digital LED display. Unplug the cord and it goes back to being an ordinary very soft blanket.

        Can I control how warm it gets?

        Yes. The controller lets you dial the temperature up or down at any point, and there is a built-in timer if you would rather set it and forget it. It also shuts itself off automatically after 3 hours.

        Is it safe to fall asleep in?

        It is built for it. There is overheat protection, and the 3-hour auto shut-off means it will not run all night unattended. As with any heated product, follow the safety card in the box — do not use it folded or bunched up, and do not use it on anyone who cannot adjust it themselves.

        How long is the cord? Am I stuck next to the outlet?

        The cord is 14 ft (4.3 m), so one outlet generally covers the sofa, an armchair and the bed. It is detachable at the blanket end, so you can unclip and keep wearing it unheated if you want to walk away.

        Can I move around while wearing it?

        That is the whole point of the design — real full-length sleeves and fleece-lined foot pockets, so nothing slides off when you stand up or reach for your cup. While it is plugged in you are limited by the cord; unplugged, you can wear it anywhere.

        Can I wash it?

        Yes. Unplug and remove the cord completely, then machine wash on a gentle cycle at 30°C / 86°F or below. Do not bleach, dry clean or tumble dry, and make sure it is fully dry before reconnecting the cord.

        What size is it? Will it fit me?

        It is one oversized size, designed to wrap rather than fit — it goes on over whatever you are already wearing, from pyjamas to work clothes. The model in our photos is 5'10". If it is not right for you, our 30-day return policy covers it.

        How long does delivery take?

        Orders are processed within 1–3 business days, then delivered in 7–15 business days depending on where you are. You will get a tracking number once it ships — allow 2–5 days for tracking to start updating.

        What if I change my mind?

        You have 30 days from delivery to request a return, as long as the item is unused and in its original packaging. If you are in the EU you also have a 14-day right to cancel for any reason. Email us at infos@oaklyboards.com and we will sort it out.

        Does it make a good gift?

        It is one of the easier gifts to get right — there is no size to guess and no taste to match. It tends to go down well with parents, grandparents, and anyone in your life who is permanently cold.
